When and where did you study with Dr. Gregor?
ISU, '87 - 90
What was memorable from your time in his classroom?
I most remember Harold urging us to get out of our comfort zone and to push past our natural tendencies when creating work. But I think it was the out-of-classroom conversations that I found most challenging and encouraging. In these he stressed the importance of honest drawing and re-evaluating empty stylistic choices. He was also very encouraging when discussing exhibiting outside the University setting.
