What was memorable from your time in his classroom?
As an undergrad student I was in two classes for modern and contemporary art. That was my introduction to Harold and it was an incredible experience. I became aware of the art world in a historical context, his presentation was excellent. When I began my M.S. program in painting Harold agreed to be the chairman of my committee. During that time my painting became more object-like and sculptural. It was challenging to us both in many ways and he remained open and supportive to the changes that led to my future direction.
