Remembering Dr. Harold Gregor's teaching...those Color Form Space Theory lectures challenged us all. Harold was always fair minded, earnestly inquisitive, humorously anecdotal and historically nuanced in his approach to teaching, both in the classroom and in studio review.
My friend and mentor was always open to mixed media art expression. He advised and supported my studies where painting, printmaking and other media crossed lines to embark on new approaches. He defended my graduate studies to be unrestrained by patriarchal definitions or departmental politics. Dr. Gregor mentored and advised his students as individuals facing authentic artistic and life challenges.
Harold was ceaseless in testing himself in his personal art and was a savvy self promoter and marketer. Many lessons have been made through his example. Dr. Harold Gregor, his life and work lives on through his art and all those who had the honor of learning from him.
